Artifacts Gallery displays the works of 40 area artists, with prices ranging from $3 to $3,000. Watercolor, pottery, handmade furniture, handmade books and mixed media are only part of the artwork at Artifacts. Artifacts is also home to 12 artists in residence, who rent studio space. It is a place to wander through and watch the artist at work. The newest addition to Artifacts is The Chile Store, where a variety of New Mexico made chile products such as salsa, dry mixes, jellies and hot sauces and be found.
Emerson Gallery
Since 1999, the Emerson Gallery allowed visitors and local residents of Farmington, New Mexico to experience the fine art of the Native Americans and Non Natives. In the gallery you will experience Anthony Emerson’s paintings portraying Navajos in all aspects of life. Some paintings have a story behind them and others are based on repetitive design. You will also find Navajo folk art made by his mother, Betty Begay Emerson, brother Travis Emerson and several renowned Navajo Folk artists. It is the intention of the gallery to provide artwork by various artists, from different regions, to intrigue the visitor who appreciates fine art.
Wal-Art
Gallery
Wal-Art Gallery carries everything from signed and numbered limited edition prints and canvases to posters, catering to both collectors and people interested in home décor. Wal-Art specializes in custom matting and framing. It is also the only gallery in New Mexico that is licensed to carry Thomas Kinkade. An entire section of the store is dedicated to his work. The gallery also carries prints of local artist Tim Cox, who is nationally recognized for his western and cowboy paintings. Wal-Art provides a wide assortment of gift items, including sand paintings and pottery done by local artists; a variety of metal art and tapestries; and unique etched sandstone tables.
