Biking opportunities are abundant throughout San Juan County. The Road Apple Rally trail, a marked trail behind San Juan College, provides sandy washes and arroyos, hilly jumps, steep climbs and numerous side trails. Call (800) 448-1240 for trail maps and information on races.
The Glade Run Recreation Area covers 19,000 acres of sandy arroyos, slick rock and rolling terrain. To access the area from Piñon Hills Blvd., turn north onto the main Glade Road, County Road 1980 and travel north 2 miles to the Glade entrance.
Kinsey's Ridge, at the end of Foothills Drive, provides about 6 miles of rolling hills and a great view.
Pinon Mesa, about 3 miles north of Main St. on Hwy. 170. Trailhead is marked by a large cottonwood on the east side of the highway.
Farmington Lake offers a vast number of trails through all types of terrain and can be accessed off the Road Apple Rally and XTERRA Four Corners Trails.
