APPLE'S TO STARS: FARMINGTON'S BITE AT STATEHOOD
Explore Farmington at the time of Statehood.  Learn about everyday life during the early years of Farmington, the orchard industry of this little town, and fun facts about Farmington’s past.  This colorful slice of history is sure to entertain and enlighten all visitors at the Farmington Museum at Gateway Park Museum & Visitors Center, 3041 E. Main St., Farmington through August 4, 2012.

AROUND THE PARKS IN 8 SATURDAYS WALKING PROGRAM
Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Affairs (PRCA) invites walkers to step out and get fit!  Participate in this free program that takes place on 8 Saturdays between May 5th and June 30th from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.  During the program visit 8 parks listed in the “Farmington Trails and Walking Guide.”  Everyone is welcome to participate at any time during the program.  Come walk the designated park with family and pets.  Register online www.fmtn.org starting April 2, 2012.

PICNIC IN THE PARK FOR PRESCHOOLERS
Preschool children and their families bring lunch and meet at the Riverside Nature Center for a picnic from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a story or activity and a stroller-friendly walk in the park.  Learn about plants, insects, birds, and all the interesting wildlife.  Feed the friendly ducks and go home in time for naps.  This program continues weekly through to September.

SUMMER TERRACE SERIES
The Farmington Museum hosts outdoor concerts Saturday nights throughout the summer.  Concerts begin at 6 p.m. and are held at the Farmington Museum on the picturesque terrace next to the river at the Gateway Park Museum & Visitors Center, 3041 E. Main St., through August 25, 2012.  Call for performance schedule.

LIVE HORSE RACING
SunRay Park & Casino brings live horse racing to Farmington
each week through June 26th . Races are held on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays.

GATEWAY TO IMAGINATION – A NATIONAL JURIED ART COMPETITION
Held at the Farmington Museum, Gateway Park Museum & Visitors Center, located at 3041 E. Main St. through July 14, 2012. This annual show attracts fine artists from across the country.  The show will feature approximately 100 entries; paintings, watercolor, sculptures, photographs and mixed media.

MUSIC IN THE WINERY’S COURTYARD

FROM DINOSAURS TO DRILL BITS
This exhibit highlights the oil and gas story of the San Juan Basin. Using the latest in technology this exhibit educates and entertains visitors about an amazing resource we use every day. Experience the thrill of riding deep into the earth in search of oil on a simulated ground quaking adventure! Learn what it takes to drill thousands of feet looking for black gold, then discover how it's transformed into consumer products. This exhibit is on display at the Farmington Museum, Gateway Park Museum & Visitors Center, 3041 E. Main St., Farmington.

THREE WATERS TRADING POST EXHIBIT
The Three Waters Trading Post exhibit features a walk-through replica of a 1930’s trading post, including a bull pen stocked with period goods and artifacts, pawn room and office showcasing jewelry and rugs. The exhibit is on display at the Farmington Museum in the Gateway Park Museum & Visitors Center, 3041 E. Main St., Farmington.

THE MASTER WEAVERS
This exhibit of Todalena/Two Grey Hills textiles will be on display through May 2013 at the Historic Toadlena Trading Post and Weaving Museum. This authentic 102 year-old trading post supports the local weaving community and this exhibition showcases the best of their efforts, both past and present. The show also celebrates the long awaited publication of the highly acclaimed book of the same title, The Master Weavers, by Toadlena trader, Mark Winter. Toadlena’s history is steeped in the past with an eye on maintaining the region's weaving tradition well into the future. BIRD WATCHING RIVERSIDE NATURE CENTER
Enjoy bird watching and a beautiful walk through Farmington’s riverside trails every Tuesday morning. More than 100 species of birds have been noted throughout Animas Park and new birds fly in each season. Meet at the Riverside Nature Center, located in Animas Park off Browning Parkway, to join the friendly RNC staff for leisurely walk of 1-2 miles.

BROWN BAG BIRDING

TGIF
Grab some lunch, take a break from work, listen to live music and relax at Orchard Park in downtown Farmington from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Friday afternoon through July 29th. Three Rivers Eatery & Brew house will sell burgers and hotdogs.  TGIF is brought to residents by the Farmington Downtown Association and sponsored by Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Affairs.

XTERRA FOUR CORNERS OFF ROAD TRIATHLON
This annual triathlon in Farmington, NM is part of the XTERRA America Tour Series. XTERRA has been recognized as the consummate individual challenge for outdoor adventure athletes. The course features a 1 mile swim, 19 mile bike course and a 6 mile run.

7TH ANNUAL KIDFEST – GOIN COUNTRY
San Juan County’s kick off to Summer! KidFest is a FREE one-day event, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., held at McGee Park.  This 7th annual KidFest will have a country theme and will offer new related exhibitors and a new kids Talent Show.  KidFest focuses on youth education, summer program planning for families and local services and goods for kids.  KidFest is the only event of its kind in the Four Corners and is the largest free event for kids in New Mexico!

DUCKS FOR BUCKS FUNDRAISER
This annual family play day features family fun activities, great food, live music, auctions, a rubber duck race and great prizes. Hours are 12 Noon to 5 p.m. at Wines of the San Juan, located in Turley, NM off Hwy. 511.  This event raises awareness and funds to assist children with Niemann Pick disease.

SUMMER ART WALK
In Historic Downtown Farmington, coordinated by the Farmington Downtown Association, and sponsored by Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs.  Come walk through downtown, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and enjoy the warm summer weather with art receptions and open houses at many Downtown locations.  Art Walk maps will be available at any of the participating downtown locations.

CROWNPOINT RUG AUCTION
300 to 400 hand woven Navajo rugs are auctioned off each month at the Crownpoint Elementary School, 72 miles south of Farmington on Hwy. 371. Native American art & craft vendors also onsite. Auction sponsored by Crownpoint Rug Weavers Association, rug viewing 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and auction begins at 7 p.m.

CARSHOW AND CRAFT FAIR
Sycamore Park Community Center, 1051 Sycamore St., will host a car show and craft fair to benefit the Sycamore Skate Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  This will be a big event with the car show outside and the craft fair inside.  It will also include a day full of activities for the entire family with food vendors, games for kids, live music by the Jokers Wild, a burn out contest, car smashing, pie eating contest and a jalapeno eating contest.

SOAPBOX DERBY
The Boys and Girls Club of Farmington 3rd Annual Soapbox Derby starts at 10 a.m. on Locke Street between Apache and Arrington in Downtown Farmington.  Cars will run in heats until every racer has completed several timed runs.

THE 5TH ANNUAL SAN JUAN RIVER BALLOON RALLY

OUTDOOR SUMMER THEATER - "FIDDLER ON THE ROOF"
Experience live local theater in a beautiful natural sandstone amphitheater! “Fiddler on the Roof” will be performed by regional actors at Lions Wilderness Park.  Performances on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., June 21 through August 4, 2012. FATHER/SON CAMPOUT

GRADY WILLIAMS MEMORIAL FREEDOM DAYS TRIATHLON

Compete as an individual or as part of a team relay. This triathlon consists of a 1.5K out and back swim, a 10K cross-country run and a hilly 40K out & back bike ride.
