FARMINGTON GROWERS' MARKET
Visit this local market for the freshest most flavorful fruits and vegetables available! Local Farmers and Growers fill the lot with their fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, eggs, meats, plants and cut flowers. Market is held at the Gateway Park Museum and Visitor Center, 3041 E. Main in Farmington and is held Saturdays (beginning July 10) from 8am to 11am and Tuesdays (beginning July 20) from 4:30pm to 7pm until the second week of October or the first freeze.

OPENING HELEN'S TRUNK
This interactive exhibit at the Farmington Museum features six women artists and a turn-of-the-century trunk. It explores questions of identity, legacy, and what it means to be a creator of art in connection with a larger society. The show features a variety of media, including film, writing, music, photos, textiles, sculpture, and personal treasures that, together, weave a community of art. Visitors are invited to collaborate by adding their own art, stories and responses. Exhibit on display until October 15, 2010.

PHOTO EXHIBIT "WETLANDS BIRDS AT MORGAN LAKE"
Come to the Riverside Nature Center to see this photo exhibit by Tim Reeves titled “Wetlands Birds at Morgan Lake.” Dr. Tim Reeves has kept a photographic record of the birds for the past year and has found some which have never before been recorded in San Juan County. The exhibit also provides information on the habitat and food requirements of the birds, which rely on our wetlands. Come meet Dr. Tim Reeves at the reception on Sunday, September 19th from 2pm to 4pm.

PLEIN AIR PAINTERS EXHIBITION
More than 30 artists from the Plein Air Painters of the Four Corners will enter their works in this juried exhibition of paintings, capturing the magic of light and nature in the outdoors, at the Farmington Museum at Gateway Park, 3041 E. Main St. Exhibition artists will be honored at a ceremony on September 17, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Farmington Museum.

Annual Mountain Bike Race and tour offers pro/experts, veterans and beginners a test of skill on a 30-mile single- and double-loop course through canyons and arroyos near San Juan College in Farmington. The ROAD APPLE RALLY JUNIOR gives kids and new riders a chance to join the fun.

FOUR CORNERS STORYTELLING FESTIVAL
National and local storytellers of all ages will be featured in the two-day celebration of an almost lost art-STORYTELLING. Slow down the pace, kick back, and listen to traditional tales told by some of the very best national and local storytellers. The festival will feature stories of all varieties scary ghost stories, family stories, folklore and myths. Held at Berg Park and Totah Theatre (October 8th performances for schools and scheduled group performances).

In Historic Downtown Farmington, coordinated by the Farmington Downtown Association, and sponsored by Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs. CROWNPOINT RUG AUCTION
300-400 hand woven Navajo rugs are auctioned off at this monthly auction sponsored by the Crownpoint Rug Weavers Association. Rug viewing takes place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Auction begins at 7 p.m. Auction held at the Crownpoint Elementary School (72 miles south of Farmington on Hwy. 371)

OKTOBERFEST
Hosted by the Aztec Chamber of Commerce. The Southwest’s largest Volkswagen parade kicks off the event on Main Ave. in Aztec. The day includes live music, food, games, art walk, crafts, demonstrations, live entertainment and more. A Bier Garten is also available. All events take place downtown.

Faire takes place throughout Animas Park, in Farmington from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. This event, sponsored by the Farmington Museum, is full of artisans, food, musicians and processionals of nobility. Sword fighters battle in front of lords and ladies while bagpipes play in the background.

This fun social event closing out the local Navajo Nation fair season is organized by the Farmington Indian Center, 100 W. Elm Street, Farmington. KENYA SAFARI ACROBATS
The Brooks/Isham Performing Arts Center in Kirtland presents the Kenya Safari Acrobats. Performance begins at 7pm. The Kenya Safari Acrobats offer a truly unique cultural experience. Hailing from the heart of Africa, this awe-inspiring and dynamic dance troupe takes acrobatics to exhilarating extremes. They perform a non-stop ride of gravity-defying human pyramids, balancing, tumbling, limbo dancing, hurling through hoops and breathtaking contortions, all while clapping to a joyful Benga beat.
