FARMINGTON GROWERS' MARKET
Visit this local market for the freshest most flavorful fruits and vegetables available! Local Farmers and Growers fill the lot with their fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, eggs, meats, plants and cut flowers. Market is held at the Gateway Park Museum and Visitor Center, 3041 E. Main in Farmington and is held Saturdays (beginning July 10) from 8am to 11am and Tuesdays (beginning July 20) from 4:30pm to 7pm until the second week of October or the first freeze.

OPENING HELEN'S TRUNK
This interactive exhibit at the Farmington Museum features six women artists and a turn-of-the-century trunk. It explores questions of identity, legacy, and what it means to be a creator of art in connection with a larger society. The show features a variety of media, including film, writing, music, photos, textiles, sculpture, and personal treasures that, together, weave a community of art. Visitors are invited to collaborate by adding their own art, stories and responses. Exhibit on display until October 15, 2010.

PHOTO EXHIBIT "WETLANDS BIRDS AT MORGAN LAKE"
Come to the Riverside Nature Center to see this photo exhibit by Tim Reeves titled “Wetlands Birds at Morgan Lake.” Dr. Tim Reeves has kept a photographic record of the birds for the past year and has found some which have never before been recorded in San Juan County. The exhibit also provides information on the habitat and food requirements of the birds, which rely on our wetlands. Come meet Dr. Tim Reeves at the reception on Sunday, September 19th from 2pm to 4pm.

This juried art festival features emerging and established Native American artists. Over 100 artisans will be exhibiting their art throughout the Farmington Civic Center. There is also an authentic Navajo Rug Auction on Saturday and an Intertribal POW WOW on both days.

CROWNPOINT RUG AUCTION
300-400 hand woven Navajo rugs are auctioned off at this monthly auction sponsored by the Crownpoint Rug Weavers Association. Rug viewing takes place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Auction begins at 7 p.m. Auction held at the Crownpoint Elementary School (72 miles south of Farmington on Hwy. 371)

27TH ANNUAL COLLECTOR CAR WEEKEND
Come enjoy a weekend of activities for car enthusiast! Join car enthusiast and Cruise East Main Sonic from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, Friday the 17th. Registration for the Sunday Car Show will be available on site. The annual “Swap Meet” will be from 8:30am to 3pm at the Gateway Park Museum and Visitors Center on Saturday, the 18th. Festivities wrap up on Sunday with the 27th Annual Collector Car Show at Brookside Park. Cars will begin parking at 9am and will all be on site by 12noon (late registration until noon). The Awards Ceremony will begin at 3pm.

From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. come visit the E3 Children’s Museum & Science Center and explore the poetic artistry of Chris Raschka's collages and poems. After reading the illustrated books of Chris Raschka, children can explore poetic forms of haiku, limericks, and more through collage art. No registration required.

PLEIN AIR PAINTERS EXHIBITION
More than 30 artists from the Plein Air Painters of the Four Corners will enter their works in this juried exhibition of paintings, capturing the magic of light and nature in the outdoors, at the Farmington Museum at Gateway Park, 3041 E. Main St. Exhibition artists will be honored at a ceremony on September 17, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Farmington Museum.

PLANET HUNTER
Enjoy a special, interactive, innovative performance with live actors, teaching about the search for life on other planets. "Planet Hunter" is one of three plays created by the Farmington Museum and a collaborative national network of museums in the Science Theater Education Programming System (STEPS).
