NEW MEXICO: 100 YEARS OF ART
Featuring over sixty works in a variety of media, “New Mexico: 100 Years of Art: showcases the work of New Mexico artists over the past century.  The exhibition tells the on-going story of these artists, explains why they chose to live and work in New Mexico. The exhibit was organized by the Las Cruces Museum of Art and shows at the Farmington Museum at Gateway Park Museum & Visitors Center, 3041 E. Main St., through November 17, 2012.

PICNIC IN THE PARK FOR PRESCHOOLERS
Preschool children and their families bring lunch and meet at the Riverside Nature Center for a picnic from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a story or activity and a stroller-friendly walk in the park.  Learn about plants, insects, birds, and all the interesting wildlife.  Feed the friendly ducks and go home in time for naps.  This program continues weekly through to September.

FROM DINOSAURS TO DRILL BITS
This exhibit highlights the oil and gas story of the San Juan Basin. Using the latest in technology this exhibit educates and entertains visitors about an amazing resource we use every day. Experience the thrill of riding deep into the earth in search of oil on a simulated ground quaking adventure! Learn what it takes to drill thousands of feet looking for black gold, then discover how it's transformed into consumer products. This exhibit is on display at the Farmington Museum, Gateway Park Museum & Visitors Center, 3041 E. Main St., Farmington.

THREE WATERS TRADING POST EXHIBIT
The Three Waters Trading Post exhibit features a walk-through replica of a 1930’s trading post, including a bull pen stocked with period goods and artifacts, pawn room and office showcasing jewelry and rugs. The exhibit is on display at the Farmington Museum in the Gateway Park Museum & Visitors Center, 3041 E. Main St., Farmington.

THE MASTER WEAVERS
This exhibit of Todalena/Two Grey Hills textiles will be on display through May 2013 at the Historic Toadlena Trading Post and Weaving Museum. This authentic 102 year-old trading post supports the local weaving community and this exhibition showcases the best of their efforts, both past and present. The show also celebrates the long awaited publication of the highly acclaimed book of the same title, The Master Weavers, by Toadlena trader, Mark Winter. Toadlena’s history is steeped in the past with an eye on maintaining the region's weaving tradition well into the future. BIRD WATCHING RIVERSIDE NATURE CENTER
Enjoy bird watching and a beautiful walk through Farmington’s riverside trails every Tuesday morning. More than 100 species of birds have been noted throughout Animas Park and new birds fly in each season. Meet at the Riverside Nature Center, located in Animas Park off Browning Parkway, to join the friendly RNC staff for leisurely walk of 1-2 miles.

BROWN BAG BIRDING

ANNUAL TOTAH FESTIVAL INDIAN MARKET & POW WOW
This juried art festival offers authentic handmade Native American Arts & Craft of over 100 artists, an authentic Navajo Rug Auction (Saturday) and a contest POW WOW. Festival held at the Farmington Civic Center, 200 W. Arrington.

OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT
The Outdoor Movie at Ricketts Park, next to the Farmington Recreation Center, 1101 Fairgrounds Road, is a special summer time event.  Bring a picnic basket and a blanket or chair and enjoy the show from the field or leave the chair at home and sit in the stands.  Concessions, prizes, and surprises abound.  Gates open at 7 p.m.  Tickets: $3 per person suggested donation.

SEPTEMBER 14
CROWNPOINT RUG AUCTION
300 to 400 hand woven Navajo rugs are auctioned off each month at the Crownpoint Elementary School, 72 miles south of Farmington on Hwy. 371. Native American art & craft vendors also onsite. Sponsored by Crownpoint Rug Weavers Association, rug viewing 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and auction begins at 7 p.m.

WOMEN'S & MEN'S 4 CORNERS EXPO
Bringing both of the best expos together into one HUGE event for her and him at McGee Park Convention Center, between Farmington and Bloomfield on Hwy. 64, on Friday, 4 p.m.  to 8 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Consumers can touch, taste, see, feel and try products and services the Four corners has to offer in this, first of its kind, event designed for the big boys and their toys and women with their incredible buying power!  The split format trade show will offer everything from purses to power tools and crawlers to candles.

AZTEC FOUNDERS DAY - A CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION OF THE HARVEST
Celebrate Aztec’s 122nd Birthday and New Mexico’s 100th year as a state at the Aztec Museum.   Enjoy the San Juan Mountain Antique Truck and Equipment Parade through downtown Aztec.  Participate in 1912 harvest activities of making cider and apple butter, preserving fruit, spinning wool, drying herbs.  Local produce vendors, re-enactments and educational activities will be at Pioneer Village, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

TOUR DE CURE
This is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist to benefit the American Diabetes Association.  The starting point for the race is McGee Park’s Pavilion starting at 8 a.m.

ANIMAS RIVER GREEN CHILE FESTIVAL

FOUR CORNERS ANTIQUE POWER & TRACTOR SHOW
Come to the Farmington Museum at Gateway Park Museum & Visitors Center, 3041 E. Main St., and experience a bit of agricultural past.  Enjoy antique tractors, engines, and vehicles at this annual event.  A highlight of the show is a tractor
pull on Saturday.

JORDAN WORLD CIRCUS
This circus features many new and exciting effects created especially for this show by the imaginative use of lighting, fireworks, staging and music.   This kaleidoscopic wonderland of sight, sound and color blended into one memorable entertainment experience will be held at the McGee Park Memorial Coliseum between Farmington and Bloomfield on Hwy.64.

Friday, come cruise East Main Sonic from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Car show registration is available. Main St., and on Sunday, the Annual Collector Car Show at Brookside Park in Farmington is from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, awards begin at 3 p.m.

HARVEST MOON DINNER
Come celebrate the harvest moon with dinner, live music, wine tasting and hayrides around Sutherland Farms.  There will be bonfires with marshmallows to roast and wines to taste from Wines of the San Juan.  Tickets are limited and are $25 per person; this is an adult only event. Festivities begin at 7:30 p.m.  Bring a group of friends or just you and that special person!  Sutherlands is located 7.5 miles north of Aztec Ruins.
