Chaco Culture National Historic Park

The Chacoan culture began to flourish in the canyon in the mid-800s with continual habitation and building lasting for another 300 years. The Ancient Puebloan people (Anasazi) constructed massive stone buildings, called great houses, of multiple stories that are much larger than what had previously been built. The Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness area covers roughly 60 square miles of remote badlands south of Farmington, NM. Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness Area

Aztec Ruins provides visitors an intimate opportunity to explore ancient ruins built by the Ancient Puebloans (Anasazi) in the 1100s. Aztec Ruins features ceremonial, public, and storage structures as well as the "Great Kiva", the oldest and largest reconstructed Kiva in North America. Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness Area

Each October between 200 and 300 mountain bikers meet in Farmington, NM to compete in the annual Road Apple Rally.  The Road Apple Rally began in 1981 as a competition between horses and bicycles.  It has since become a bicycle only race and the longest running annual mountain bike race in the United States. Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness Area

The Dinétah is the traditional homeland of the Navajo Indian Tribe. The region is full of Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) and Navajo rock art and small Navajo ruins called pueblitos, which is Spanish for “little pueblos.” There is also evidence left by the Ute tribes and early Spanish explorers and settlers.
