Chaco Canyon was the center of the Anasazi culture from AD 850-1200.  Preserved structures in the park include Chacoan great houses, public buildings and kivas. The hallmark Chacoan roads and geometric layout of structures constantly captivates visitors, as Chaco Canyon is the largest excavated prehistoric ruins in North America.
